Archive of Us, Downtown Los Angeles

Situated between Chinatown and Downtown Los Angeles, Archives of Us redefines the café experience through meticulously crafted interior furnishings that embody quiet elegance and restraint. Designed in collaboration with Studio/ JIALUN XIONG, the space rejects excess in favor of material integrity, spatial harmony, and a refined approach to hospitality—offering a serene retreat where considered design and coffee culture converge. Elevated on the second floor, the café offers a sense of exclusivity, inviting patrons into a 2,500 sq. ft. space that feels both discovered and designed. Its discreet entrance enhances the experience of arrival, evoking the charm of a hidden retreat, while the expansive patio extends the spatial narrative—blurring the boundaries between interior and exterior, and creating a tranquil refuge above the bustling streets below.
